Rebecca has submitted an additional objection to the plans for up to 675 homes on Jotmans Farm, following extra concerns raised by public bodies and utilities, as well as further questions over the developer’s flooding and drainage plans.
Natural England has objected, Cadent Gas has raised serious concerns and Essex County Council has lodged a holding objection over the proposed school site.
Rebecca has warned that the developers are likely to overcome some of these objections by redesigning parts of the scheme and throwing money at the problem. But she added that it simply shows how ill thought out the application was in the first place.
She concluded by saying: "The developers still need to prove that their proposed drainage system is deliverable and will not make existing flooding problems worse. On a site with known drainage constraints, that simply is not good enough!
"If you are concerned about the loss of this treasured Green Belt site, or hundreds more vehicles using Canvey Way, please make your views known.
"I will keep fighting alongside residents to protect Jotmans Farm and prevent that extra junction on the A130 to Canvey."
