Burnham and his team have backed a string of new taxes. Here is what working people could face next:-

01. Burnham's House Price Tax
Property tax, £18.6bn, Coming soon?

Burnham has talked extensively about introducing Land Value Taxes, saying he sees a 'big case for land and property' taxation to be changed. "I see a big case for land and property and business taxation to be changed" (Evening Standard, May 2026)

02. Burnham's Death Tax
Inheritance Tax, £18.4bn, Coming soon?

Burnham has previously called for a 10 per cent levy on all estates to pay for his social care plan. He has also called for a new Social Care Service. (The Guardian, Mar 2010; The Times - Burnham's £18bn Death Tax)

03. Restoring the 50p Rate

04. Higher taxes on food, gambling and alcohol

07. Burnham's Tourist Tax
