Last week, Rebecca met with Mencap in Westminster in a celebration of its 80th Anniversary.
At the event, Rebecca learnt about the work being done to support the 1.5 million people in the UK with a learning disability.
Mencap has made an enormous difference to families over the last eight decades, helping people live more independent lives and ensuring their voices are heard.
Many local residents will know that the internationally acclaimed The Music Man Project UK began its journey through Southend Mencap before growing into the remarkable organisation it is today.
If you would like to find out more about the work of Mencap, you can do so here: www.mencap.org.uk.
Rebecca said: "Congratulations to everyone involved with Mencap on this important milestone, and thank you to the staff, volunteers, carers and families who make such a difference every day."
