This week, Rebecca was invited to attend Alzheimer's Research UK's Dementia Research Showcase in Parliament.
Alzheimer's Research UK is the leading dementia and Alzheimer's disease research charity in the UK and is working toward a cure for the devastating disease.
Rebecca found out about the ground-breaking research being made possible by funding from Alzheimer's Research UK and the work of the Oxford Drug Discovery Institute, part of the Drug Discovery Alliance. The Drug Discovery Alliance bridges the gap between discovery science taking place in universities across the UK and drug development expertise in pharmaceutical companies.

After attending the event, Rebecca commented: "Dementia affects far too many families in Castle Point and across the country, so it was encouraging to hear directly from some of the leading researchers working to improve diagnosis, develop new treatments and, ultimately, find ways to prevent the disease altogether.
"The progress being made is genuinely exciting and offers real hope for the future. My thanks to Alzheimer’s Research UK for bringing together so many experts and for the vital work they do to help turn that hope into reality for families affected by dementia."
