At the weekend, Rebecca joined Canvey Island Rotary Club members at the Oysterfleet Hotel for their President's Night.

Rotary members do a huge amount behind the scenes to support local charities, organisations and residents. The event was held to celebrate another successful year of fundraising and community work.

Rebecca heard of the work they are doing to support local schools, including providing illustrated dictionaries for Year 4 pupils on the Island.

After the event, Rebecca commented: "A big thank you to President Robert Sayer and all the members for everything they do for our community.

"The Rotary motto is "Service Above Self" and  that really sums up the spirit of Rotary and the volunteers who give up so much time to help others."
