Last week Rebecca visited an event in the House of Commons hosted by the British Beauty Council.
The event focussed on their latest report on the value of the beauty sector. Rebecca spoke with head of policy, Victoria Brownlie MBE, about the strength and scale of the industry.
The beauty sector is far more than appearances. It supports jobs, skills and local high streets. This is particularly true for Castle Point, where up to one in every 50 jobs is in the beauty, hair, wellbeing or related services.
Following the event, Rebecca commented: "From independent salons to training and manufacturing, this is a sector that plays a real role in our local economy and community life. It was good to see its contribution recognised in Parliament and to hear directly form those working to support its future."
