👔 The Canvey School Uniform Bank is now able to move to brand new premises after Rebecca was able to secure the last of the funding they need.
Finding new accommodation for the bank, which is located in a purpose built cabin behind Our Lady of Canvey Catholic Church on Long Road, has been a real community effort.
Our Lady of Canvey Catholic Church generously offered land and the building of the cabin was arranged through the St Vincent de Paul charity. Further help came from Canvey Rotary, the Mayor of Canvey Town Council and an Essex County Council Grant secured by Cllr Blackwell.
When the team were a few thousand pounds short, Rebecca reached out to Calor, who very kindly donated £6,000 to complete and wire up the new cabin and show their support for our community.
The new facility should be ready early next year!
Rebecca commented on the donation: "The Canvey Uniform Bank do fantastic work supporting families on the Island and I am pleased that I have been able to secure them the last of the funding they need.
"A huge thank you to Calor, the Church, St Vincent de Paul, all those who have donated, and of course Jan, Jo and those that support them to make the Uniform Bank such a lifeline for local families."
