👷 Yesterday Rebecca joined a local county councillor out speaking to residents who had their driveway blocked without notice due to planned roadworks by Openreach.
This was not an isolated incident and residents across Castle Point have had to contend with Openreach works springing up and blocking access to their property without notice. Local county councillors are not being informed about these driveway access restrictions in their areas either.
While work to improve local broadband network is welcome and Openreach are investing a great deal in Castle Point, Rebecca has made it clear that to block access to properties without notice is unacceptable unless it is an emergency.
Afterwards, Rebecca said: "I will be writing to the CEO of Openreach asking for an explanation and for him to make sure that Openreach ensure all residents are given notice in writing if they are likely to put barriers across their driveway for future work."
