📖 I popped into South Benfleet Library on Saturday to drop off some broken electricals for recycling before they shut for renovations until mid-November.

The renovations will focus on making the building more energy efficient and the installation of solar panels, as well as other updates to the fabric of the building.

During the renovations, the opening hours of the Great Tarpots Library have been extended and are as follows:

• Monday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Tuesday: 9:00am - 5:30pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Thursday: 9:00am - 7:00pm
• Friday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Saturday: 9:00am - 5:00pm
• Sunday: Closed

As well as a wide selection of books, literature and their battery and small electrical recycling, the Great Tarpots Library offers computing, printing and photocopying services, in addition to study spaces and the Everyone's Literacy Area, to help everyone develop a love of reading for pleasure.

I am a big fan of our local libraries and I look forward to seeing these renovations when they are complete.
