Last week Rebecca Harris MP attended Remembrance Commemorates for those who have served our country from Castle Point.
As pictured, she laid a symbol of remembrance on the memorial garden set out in New Palace Yard at the Houses of Parliament, on behalf of the people of Castle Point. She also admired the beautifully knitted poppy decorations around Castle Point. Rebecca Harris then attended the open-air Armistice Day service at Hadleigh Salvation Army on November 11.
Rebecca commented: “A massive thank you to all those who give up their time to put up decorations around Castle Point every year and a special thanks to those who help organise the local remembrance events each year.”
Castle Point has over 2,600 veterans, living in over 2,500 households. 74% served in the regular armed forces, 21% served in the reserves, 5% served in both. Chances are we all have at least one veteran who lives along our road.
