Today Education Minister Baroness Barran came to visit Appleton School to celebrate the school reopening for full time face-to-face learning for all pupils.

Most of the school buildings had been closed since September after a survey said there was suspected RAAC in some of the ceilings. With the support of Essex County Council and myself the school arranged for further more in depth surveys to be done that confirmed for certain that there was absolutely no RAAC in the school.

It’s a testament to the great teachers and strong leadership team at Appleton that they have gone through such a difficult period and come out the other side the way they have.

It was great to see teachers and pupils being so happy to be back in their classrooms!
