Rebecca Harris attended a fundraising day at the Woodman’s Arms Pub, in Thundersley for children’s cancer charity – Karis’ Helping Hands. The charity, based on Canvey Island was set up by Karis’ family after she sadly passed away from a brain tumour.

Superheroes and movie characters join together to raise money for Karis’ Helping Hands. Thundersley Superhero Alliance, Southend Ghostbusters, the Blackwater Pirates, Rayleigh Fire Station, Salvo the Clown and other Essex Cosplayers – all took part and dressed up for the event.

Rebecca Harris MP commented:

“A massive thank you to everyone who organised and attended the event and to those who donated, raising an incredible sum of £521. This money will go a long way in helping a worthy cause. If you too would like to donate to help the amazing work of Karis' Helping Hand, please visit their website to find out how.”

Karis’ Helping Hand helps children diagnosed with brain tumours and their immediate families by providing grants and gifts, memory-making days out, everyday essentials and other services. The charity’s work goes a long way in helping families whose children have been diagnosed with brain tumours.

Angela McMonagle, the mother of Karis and founder of Karis' Helping Hand, commented:

“What a fantastic fundraising day Karis Helping Hand Children’s Brain Tumour Charity had at the Woodman’s Pub. “I’d like to thank Faye Thomson and staff of the Woodman’s Arms pub, Rebecca Harris MP, Simon Foxen and the Superheroes for helping to organise this amazing event for us.”
