Today, Castle Point MP Rebecca Harris visited Canvey Jobcentre Plus to personally thank them for all their hard work in assisting any constituents in Castle Point who may have been made unemployed due to the impact of the pandemic.
If you are affected by coronavirus or its effect on the economy, there is a wide range of support available. Canvey Jobcentre Plus is one of the many Jobcentre Plus’s across the country that are offering support.
Jobcentre Plus provides resources to enable job-searchers to find work. They offer information about training opportunities for the unemployed. They administer claims for benefits such as Income Support, Incapacity Benefit, Jobseeker's Allowance and Support Allowance.

Following her visit, Rebecca Harris MP commented:
“Yesterday I visited Canvey Jobcentre Plus to personally thank the wonderful staff there for their hard work supporting people to get back into employment, particularly during the pandemic.
The whole centre is COVID-secure and the social distancing measures on display were excellent.”
COVID-Secure
The recent rise in coronavirus cases across the country serve as a salutary reminder that this virus is still very much with us and remains a threat, so it is critical that we maintain our collective commitment to controlling this disease. We all have a part to play.
Rebecca was pleased to see that the Canvey Jobcentre Plus had maintained their commitment in controlling and reducing the transmission of the virus by ensuring that their centre was COVID-secure in line with Government Guidance.
The Canvey Jobcentre Plus had ensured that their workplace was COVID-secure through various measures such as: increasing how often surfaces are cleaned; asking staff and visitors to use hand sanitiser and wash their hands frequently; arranging work spaces to keep staff apart, through the use of barriers to separate people; ensuring social distancing measures are maintained through floor sticker and a one way system.
