'In Their Footsteps' exhibition

Today Rebecca visited the 'In Their Footsteps' exhibition which has been installed at the Palace of Westminster for Holocaust Memorial Day.

The artist, Jenny Stolzenberg, created hundreds of ceramic and replica shoes in response to her father's wartime silence. He rarely spoke about his experiences, so she made the shoes to give voice to those untold stories and to preserve memory through a powerful, tangible act of remembrance and education.

Rebecca commented: "It is a quietly powerful display. The shoes and the stories behind them bring home, in the most human way, the scale of loss and the importance of remembering. I left feeling humbled and determined that we must keep teaching this history to younger generations."
