Rebecca visited Southend Hospital where she met with the Head of Midwifery, Colleen Begg and Matron Kerry Joseph for the Emergency Department at the Hospital.

Rebecca was guided around the hospital by Chairman Alan Tobias OBE, to see the improvements Southend Hospital are making and pass on issues that had been raised by her residents.

Colleen Begg also told Rebecca about the new equipment in the maternity wards and other improvements for patient care.

Matron Kerry Joseph, a local Canvey resident herself, explained how they are striving to meet A&E targets and showed Rebecca around the new A&E ward for children and parents, with a separate waiting area so the young patients can play while they wait.
