Rebecca Harris MP recently visited the Megacentre in Rayleigh to find out more about the work they do and to offer them her support.
The Megacentre is a local charity which provides a range of services for local young people, children and families including youth clubs, parenting programmes, mentoring, education support and family support. Rebecca Harris MP was shown around their flagship community facility, based at the Rayleigh Weir junction of the A127. The Megacentre operates as a not-for-profit social enterprise with all income generated supporting the charity’s aims to benefit the community across Castle Point and Rochford.
Many people know the Megacentre offers laser tag and soft play, but fewer people realise they are a charity that provides an extensive range of services for local residents. They have some fantastic facilities including a sensory room and arts, music and sports facilities.

“It was a pleasure to meet with Julie Sawford and Lucy Ramsay, the centre’s family worker and youth worker, and hear about the work they do in supporting local young people and families. It is great to see the community in action, seeking to provide support and encouragement to others and I am very happy to support this very valuable work.”
