Rebecca speaks to Cancer Research UK about the importance of the ‘Race for Life’ series

This week, Rebecca met with representatives from Cancer Research UK in Parliament to discuss the important work that they do and to hear about the ‘Race for Life’ series, which is travelling the country.

These 3k, 5k, and 10k events are taking place all summer, as well as their ‘Pretty Muddy’ 5k obstacle courses. Even the little ones can get involved with the Kids Pretty Muddy!

Whether you join for the memories, the medals, the fundraising or to maintain a healthy lifestyle, Race for Life is a wonderful cause and a great reason to get outside this summer.

Rebecca commented:

“It was lovely to meet representatives from a charity that does such good work. Cancer is a terrible tragedy that impacts so many lives. Together we must do everything we can to beat this disease and these fun runs are a perfect way to raise funds for such an important cause.”

There are not one, not two, but THREE Race for Life events near Castle Point this summer. Get training, as there’s several events upcoming up near you:

  • Southend Race for Life 5k - 12th May 2024
  • Basildon Race for Life 3k and 5k - 15th June 2024
  • Basildon Pretty Muddy and Pretty Muddy Kids - 15th June 2024
  • Chelmsford Race for Life 10k - 14th July 2024

You can sign up for any or all of these events on the Race for Life website, linked here.

If you still want to contribute, the events need volunteers! You can learn about what roles are available on their website, linked here.
