Rebecca Harris recently attended Canvey Island Football Club’s annual Soccability tournament, where she presented the awards.

The Soccability programme enables young disabled people in the community to get involved in football. The programme has gone from strength to strength in recent years with the help of funding from Pitching In’s Trident Community Foundation, funded by Entain Plc.

Individuals with all disabilities or impairments are encouraged to attend a session, regardless of their ability - the programme is open to anyone from the local community to attend. The team has the opportunity to play friendlies and Soccability tournaments against other local teams.

Rebecca Harris, MP for Castle Point said:

“It was a pleasure to present the awards at Canvey Island FC’s annual Soccability. The club does brilliant work supporting disabled young people in the community with the help of funding from Pitching In’s Trident Community Foundation. It was fantastic to see so many young people involved, training under the umbrella of Soccability football. And a huge congratulations to Canvey Island FC on their recent promotion to the Isthmian Premier League!”
