❤️‍🩹 Today, Rebecca went to Prostate Cancer Research's High Time To Screen Reception in Parliament.

The event laid out the importance of screening, particularly for those who are at greater risk, to catch the disease as early as possible.

63,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year, and for many it is unfortunately caught too late, once the cancer has already spread to other areas of the body.

Prostate Cancer Research recognise that breakthrough research is needed to develop treatments to fight this awful disease. Their focus is on delivering innovative solutions and improving quality of life for patients, families, and communities affected by prostate cancer.

The latest report from Prostate Cancer Research calls for a screening programme targeted at men at highest risk. Technologies like smarter blood tests, precision MRI and safer biopsy techniques allow the screening of high-risk groups effectively and safely. The full report can be found here: www.prostate-cancer-research.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2025/10/Prostate…

Dame Rebecca has long called for those with a greater risk to have better access to quicker screening. The Government's national cancer plan has outlined the desire to utilise the most modern technologies to help tackle cancer. Rebecca will be working alongside her Conservative colleagues to ensure the Government sticks to its promises.

After the event, Rebecca commented: "With many men being diagnosed too late and suffering more as a result, it is critical that the correct screening is available, particularly for the most at risk. We must make sure that men are made aware of the risks of prostate cancer and the services available to them, ensuring the right support is in place for them and their families, should they be diagnosed."
