"This morning I attended Alan Browne's funeral at St. Nick's Church on the Island to say goodbye to a wonderful man.

"The service was very moving and it was great to see so many people from the many causes he supported there, as well as his family and friends.

"Alan truly was a great community champion who loved the Island and its people. He will be very much missed.

"May he rest in peace and rise in glory."
