The Government have given Essex County Council and other authorities money to support community organisations across Essex when we moved into tier 2 and the subsequent lockdown. These are the grants Essex County Council have established to do just that are open to any voluntary or community organisations in Castle Point.
Please do pass them on to anyone you know who helps run a community or voluntary group in our local area.
Grants for targeted well-being support
Grants of up to £20,000 to target key groups identified as having a need for additional wellbeing support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Successful bidders will demonstrate that they can support one of more of these groups through an intervention which may be delivered online or face to face. The target groups are:
- Women over 40
- Lone parents
- Care leavers
- Individuals in supported accommodation
- Unaccompanied asylum seekers
- Early intervention for victims of domestic abuse
- Parents of and children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities

Organisations expressing interest, will be provided with an application form, to be returned by Friday 11th December. Organisations will be notified as to whether or not they have been successful by Friday 18th December.
Small Grants to Support Workforce and Volunteer Wellbeing
Small grants of up to £2000 to enable small organisations within the community and voluntary sector to offer interventions to support the wellbeing of their own workforce where they are feeling the impact of COVID-19. The funding is for small organisations who may not have their own dedicated HR function and can demonstrate a need for funding to deliver targeted support, for example group coaching, counselling or other well-being resources.

Public Health Grants – Up to £2000
Local community and voluntary organisations in Castle Point and the Rochford District are invited to apply for grants to support ongoing provision for the remainder of 20/21. Initiatives should meet one or more of the priorities in our joint health and wellbeing strategy. Grants of up to £1000 are available for any one initiative, or up to £2000 if the activity runs in locations in both districts.
