Over the past two weeks, Rebecca has visited USP SEEVIC College as students received their results and to share in some of their celebrations.
But Rebecca said it was even better to hear from so many young people about what they hope to do next, whether that is university, an apprenticeship, further study or starting their careers.
She took the time to remind those who didn't get the results they had hoped for not to think their plans are over. She said, "There is nearly always another route to where you want to go."
Rebecca went on to advise that the first people students should speak to are the teachers and careers advisers at the school or college they have just left. "They know you and can help talk through your options. USP itself has a dedicated Careers Team offering one-to-one guidance and support after results."
"One set of results does not determine your future. Sometimes the route changes, but the destination doesn’t have to."
