✈️ This week, 1341 Thundersley Air Cadet Squadron invited Rebecca to see a parade drill and receive a presentation on the activities cadets do as part of their training.
These include archery, navigation, first aid, and confidence boosting public speaking. Cadets are also supported through their Bronze, Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Awards.
We are lucky to have two excellent Air Cadet Squadrons in Castle Point:
- 1341 (Thundersley) Squadron - 10 Waverley Road, Thundersley, Benfleet, Essex, SS7 4AZ
- 2187 (Canvey Island) Squadron - Drill Hall, Runnymede Road, Canvey Island, Essex, SS8 0EF
They are both recruiting cadets and volunteers so please get in touch with them!
After visiting the Squadron, Dame Rebecca commented: "The Air Cadets is a superb opportunity for young people to learn a new set of skills and develop personal discipline which they can carry with them into adulthood. The presentation was excellent and every cadet I spoke to and who mustered for drill was a true credit to the squadron. I wish all Castle Point's Cadets the best with their future training!"
