Rebecca recently bumped into England footballing legend Martin Keown in the House of Commons who was there to show his support for a new Bill she is helping get through Parliament that would make tailgating at football matches a criminal offence.

The Unauthorised Entry to Football Matches Bill would create a conviction for entering a football match without permission. This Bill is now at the Committee Stage, meaning it has passed it’s First and Second Reading.

A report into the disorder around the UEFA Euro 2020 final at Wembley Stadium by Baroness Casey recommended that tailgating be banned for safety reasons. It is also grossly unfair to those supporters who pay for tickets to watch their team play live.
