Conservative MP for Thundersley Rebecca Harris visited her local William Hill shop to show her support for The Bobby Moore Fund’s Football Shirt Friday campaign.
Football Shirt Friday took place on 27th April, and saw people up and down the country donate £5 to wear their favourite football shirt for the day.
William Hill, who sponsored and took part as a company in Football Shirt Friday for the third year running, provided Rebecca with a £50 charity bet which she placed on local team Southend to beat MK Dons at odds of 11/10. Southend’s victory therefore resulted in Rebecca winning £110 for the Bobby Moore Fund.
Over the last 2 years, William Hill colleagues and customers have raised over £44,000 for the charity, which has contributed towards clinical trials and research into bowel cancer.
The company are also using their UK-wide network of shops and offices to educate customers and colleagues on the risks of bowel cancer, which kills 44 people every day in the UK.
