It was a pleasure to host a trustee meeting of the Cascade Foundation charity in my constituency office in Benfleet earlier in the week.
Two years ago I hosted their launch event in the House of Commons and, as their patron, I am very pleased that they are going from strength to strength.
The foundation goes into prisons and uses practical learning techniques to teach offenders who have difficulties with reading and writing so they are better able to get a job and stay on the straight and narrow when they have done their time. The foundation was set up in Benfleet and is hopefully about to begin a project in it's third prison.
A massive well done to all involved!
