William Hague joined Rebecca on the campaign trail in Castle Point today, joining the MP at two very important local events highlighting education and Green Belt protection.
The first stop was the official opening and a brief tour of the sixth form extension at King John School. From there the pair moved on to The Deanes School to officially open their refurbished buildings.
Castle Point has fantastic schools and colleges and Rebecca has always fought to support them. Now more than ever it is important that they deliver high quality education for our young people so they can compete in the modern jobs market and get the jobs they want and deserve when they leave education.
Mr Hague also joined Rebecca to meet representatives from Castle Point Green Belt groups and local residents around the Dutch Village to talk about the Green Belt protection which was confirmed once again in the Conservative manifesto yesterday. A Conservative Government will protect the Green Belt and encourage more communities to draw up Neighbourhood Plans.
Councils will keep the Green Belt protections given to them in the National Planning Policy Framework that allows them to protect our vital green lungs from housing development.
