The Secretary of State for the Environment Liz Truss returned to Castle Point on Thursday to hear about the progress made by the flooding agencies since Rebeccagot them to pull together to tackle our flooding problems last year.
Having visited us within days of the flooding last July, it was an opportunity to hear first hand from flooded residents and local councillors how pleased they were with the progress that has been made so far across the borough.

"The Secretary of State has been very supportive of me and my efforts to tackle the flooding. Having visited us within days of the flooding last year, today was an opportunity to hear first hand from flooded residents and local councillors how pleased they were with the progress that has been made so far across the borough. "She was also able to see with her own eyes the good that the preliminary bid for £24.5 million for drainage improvement works in the borough would do for residents as well as the scale of the challenge still ahead."
