Today Secretary of State for Defence Michael Fallon visited Castle Point.

Speaking about how the Aid Budget is supporting our military Michael Fallon said:

"International aid is an important part of our security budget by preventing conflict and instability across the world. It is funding our military operations in Sierra Leone to tackle the deadly Ebola virus and stop it coming to Europe, it is helping the people of Nepal and British citizens caught up in the terrible earthquake and its supporting the poorest people in the world. If we did not spend on international aid then the risk of terrorism, illegal migration to the UK, and instability that threatens Britain and our interests would be much greater."
