Rebecca Harris has welcomed new figures showing 1,149 fewer people in Castle Point claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance compared to 2010 - a 61% per cent drop. This means more people in work, with the security of a good job and a regular pay packet so they can provide for themselves and their families. Jobs are being created all over Castle Point.
People are getting off benefits and into work across the South East, with 243 more people in work since the last election. Across the UK, there are 2 million more people at work since the last election.
But all this is at risk if Miliband gets into Downing Street, propped up by the SNP. Because Labour are facing a wipeout in Scotland, he’ll have to rely on the SNP for support. With Nicola Sturgeon calling the shots, we would suffer here in Castle Point. They would hike up borrowing, hit pay packets, and cost us jobs.
That’s why it’s so important to vote for Conservative here on 7 May and secure a brighter future for our area. We just can’t afford to risk it with Labour and the SNP.

“This is thanks to the hard work and the determination of people here, and the Conservatives’ strong leadership and clear economic plan.
“But it would all be put at risk with the chaos of a Miliband-SNP stitch-up, hiking borrowing, hurting the economy, and costing jobs – and it’ll be hardworking people in this Borough who’ll pay. That’s why you have to vote Conservative here to get a brighter, more secure future for our community.’
